Myself and a number of other brokers were invited for a sea trial on an inventory Vicem 92 factory owned yacht based in Fort Lauderdale. This is a 2008 model that has never been owned currently asking $4,249,000 USD.
Vicem yachts are built in Antalya,Turkey. Under new management the team seems very positive in the future of the company introducing new models and aggressively promoting their brand.
I was extremely impressed with the level of finish reconfirming that Turkish builders are a major contender in shipbuilding. With very good quality and low prices these yards should not be overlooked.
We left the dock around 6PM out of Port Everglades with near perfect conditions for an evening cruise. 5-7 knots of breeze that settled down and 2-3 foot seas. The Vicem 92 displays an extremely impressive layout offering a large master cabin with separate entrance and 3 guest staterooms forward. Crew quarters aft allows for complete privacy. A very spacious flybridge with plenty of seating which was tested with a large crowd and food platters spread out.
The standard bow and stern thrusters allowed the captain to drive the boat without a hitch fitting into a very tight dockspace.
We cruised around 13 knots with a very pleasant motion at every angle. Although this particular Vicem does not have stabilizers the option is available.
